ARTIST STATEMENT
In my work I focus more on the dreamy nature of the in-between worlds and identity, rather than on clear positions or answers. Everything is fluid and has multiple sides, I put an important emphasis on this. Far too often the emphasis is placed on who is right and who is wrong. You always have to be ready to make a choice. Doubt is seen as a weakness rather than a strength. It is important to keep listening, feeling and doubting. Life is not this or that. If we are forced to stand behind one single truth we lose openness. This does not mean that we should take a neutral position in the face of injustice, but to always maintain an open, empathetic and critical view. My work is a representation and a research of different possibilities outside the current binary framework.
